PUPILS from Wimboldsley Primary School visited the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studios in London after raising every penny to get there themselves.

The year five and six pupils visited the studios on Friday, June 6, after holding bag packs, diner days, and movie nights to raise the money for the return coach and entry to the studios.

The pupils were given a tour around all the different sets of the studios and a ‘costume-distressing’ workshop where they got to study actual costumes from the Harry potter movies and see how they were distressed for battle scenes.

They also learnt about all of the different jobs and careers that the movie industry includes.

Tom Ablard, 11, said: “The tour around the studios was really good, we all really enjoyed it and seeing the big replica castle from the films was amazing.

“I really like the topic in school and going to the Harry Potter Studios really inspired me to go into film making.”

The trip was to support the photography and film making topic that the year five and six pupils are currently learning about.

The topic at school has seen the pupils create their own animation and silent movies and will finish with an Oscars style ceremony were the pupils and their parents will go into school dressed up and claim awards from 22 separate categories.
