MIDDLEWICH’S Wobbly Wheels cycle group is celebrating the arrival of the Tour of Britain by holding a bike ride just two days before the race’s third stage hits Cheshire.

The group, now in its third year, aims to get new and returning cyclists out on their bikes.

Building on the Tour of Britain excitement and the performances of Team GB and of Chris Froome this summer, Wobbly Wheels is inviting budding cyclists of all ages to join them on a leisurely Cheshire ride on Sunday.

There will be two routes, both run by trained leaders, of 10 and 20 miles, respectively. Both start and finish at the Boar’s Head in Kinderton Street, beginning at 2pm.

Ride leader David Williams said: “"It's very exciting that the Tour is coming through Middlewich, particularly with Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins taking part.

“Our rides are much slower paced and nowhere near as long, so they're great for kids and adults who've not cycled for a while.

“So dust off that old bike in the garage, pump up tyres and join us for a gentle ride around the beautiful countryside surrounding Middlewich."

All are welcome to partake and can turn up on the day. The group ask that all children are accompanied by a responsibly adult.
