TESCO has revamped the family parking at its Southway superstore, thanks to the efforts of a Middlewich mum.

Andrea Nugent, mum of two, contacted the Guardian earlier this summer to voice her concerns about the spaces, which were located on a slope, poorly signed and often misused as a result.

After weeks of constant dialogue with Middlewich and head office staff, Andrea was pleased to find the spaces moved to a flat area and freshly painted. New signs are also due to be installed.

Andrea said: “I kept in touch with councillors and with head office about it, and I’ve been into the store to say thank you – it is nice to see it getting done.

“They said people have been complaining for years and years, but I suppose I just kept going and they did it.”

Ben Manuel, Tesco Middlewich store manager, said, “We’re always listening to our customers and looking for ways to serve our shoppers a little better every day, and so we were keen to act on the feedback we were given about our car park.

“I’m delighted that the changes we’ve made to the bays have been well received and my team and I are proud to continue to serve our Middlewich customers.”
