A MIDDLEWICH garden machinery dealership is getting ready to celebrate a quarter of a century in business.

County Power, located in the former Co-op building on the corner of Newton Bank, was set up on October 1, 1991 by Mike and Wendy Pedler and their sons, Jim and Mike.

Now, 25 years on, the family business continues to thrive with Mike having taken over from his parents, who remain involved.

He said: “Our whole family has a history of garden machinery. My father and brother we in the business and decided to set up our own retail shop.

“We lived In Wilmslow but drove through Middlewich and saw this shop up for rent. It has a lot of history – it used to be the Middlewich Co-op and we get a lot of callers saying that.

“Our location in a very busy corner is important, and our signage lets people see what we do as they go past.

“We have a solid customer base. There is no doubt that the industry has been changed because of the internet and a lot of people buy on there, but it still needs repairing and servicing.

“We still sell and hire a lot but we have a good loyal customer base and have had for years. We are very customer-orientated.

On Monday the company delivered a new lawn tractor to Barton Stadium, to be used by Winsford United FC and 1874 Northwich for pitch maintenance.
