Full back Sutton was one of Dino Maamria’s first signings of the summer, joining from relegated neighbours Stafford Rangers where he had spent the past two seasons.
Graduated through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before heading to Marston Road for two loan spells between 2005 and 2007, a move that was made permanent at the start of last season.
An aggressive attacking defender, Sutton’s start at his new club has been hampered by injury after an impressive pre-season. A groin strain and then ankle ligament damage has limited his involvment.
