Lee Steele
Born:
December 7, 1973 in Liverpool
Age: 34
Signed: August 2007 from Chester City
Contract: Until June 2009
Previous clubs: Leyton Orient, Oxford United, Brighton, Shrewsbury, Northwich Victoria

Steele acted as Vics’ saviour last season. Their top scorer with 14 goals in league and cup, his form during the run-in was one of the reasons they were able to survive.

Picked as Blue Square Premier Player of the Month for March following a run of eight goals in seven matches, the 34-year-old did not become a regular starter until after Christmas due to a torn hamstring.

His inspirational displays have earned him a place in the non-league category for the North West Footballer of the Year awards.

His time on the pitch this season has been cut short after fracturing his tibia at Torquay in the first week of September.

Began his career with Northwich when they played at the Drill Field before going on to spend the rest of his time in the Football League before his return last summer.
